Discrimination not based on gender
The Non-discrimination Act (1325/2014) prohibits discrimination on the basis of age, origin, nationality, language, religion, belief, opinion, political activity, trade union activity, family relationships, state of health, disability, sexual orientation, or other personal characteristics.
Monitoring compliance with the Non-Discrimination Act
The Non-Discrimination Ombudsman and the National Non-Discrimination and Equality Tribunal monitor compliance with the Non-Discrimination Act and realisation of equal treatment outside working life.
Occupational safety and health authorities at Regional State Administrative Agencies (AVI) monitor compliance with the Non-Discrimination Act at workplaces. A person who feels that they have been discriminated against at work or during recruitment on grounds that are prohibited in the Non-Discrimination Act can turn to the relevant occupational safety and health authorities.
